2023 $50K Your Way Raffle
TERMS & CONDITIONS

All entrants understand and agree to the terms and conditions of the United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee (United Way) 2023 $50K Your Way raffle for the benefit of United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee set forth herein: 

1.    An entry represents a chance to win the opportunity to accept an offer of the prize as per the terms and conditions set forth herein and in the Winner Notification Agreement. Online sales begin at 12:01 a.m. June 1, 2023. Important Dates: 

Early Bird BOGO Sale Deadline: June 1, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. CST online
Early Bird BOGO Sale Location: Zachary’s in Columbus from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
Early Bird BOGO Sale 2nd Location:  Sounds of Summer, Columbus from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Grand Prize Sales Deadline:   Thursday, August 17, 2023, 11:59 CST
Grand Prize Drawings:  Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST
Grand Prize Drawings Location: United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee Kick-off in Columbus, MS

2.    Participants can become eligible for the contest by purchasing a raffle ticket for $100.00 online at www.uwlc-ms.org or in person at each of the following locations:

United Way Office – 223 22nd St No, Columbus, Mississippi 39701 
Suga Moma’s Cupcakes – 16477 West Main Street, Louisville Mississippi 
Conner’s Sweets – 3123 Jefferson Street, Macon Mississippi
Dunkington Art & Jewelry – 109 South Lafayette, Starkville Mississippi
Dapper Doughnut – 100 Maxwell Street, Starkville Mississippi

3.    United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee reserves the right to change any of the rules and/or the terms for this contest. Odds of winning are based on the number of tickets purchased. A maximum of 2500 tickets will be available for sale. 

4.    If less than 1000 entries have been sold by 11:29 p.m. CST on Thursday, August 17, 2023, the raffle will change from $50,000 split 5 ways to a 50/50 split with one lucky winner of proceeds from sales received to date.

5.    The Purchase of a Raffle entry constitutes full agreement by the purchaser to all terms and conditions set forth herein and in the Winner Notification Agreement. 

6.    No one will be eligible to win who procures an entry without valid payment of the purchase price either through a check returned for “Insufficient funds”, “closed account” or through charge to a debit or credit card that is “Declined”, “Invalid”, or “Stolen”. 

7.    There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual (18 or older) may purchase.

8.    Entries may not be issued in the name of company or business, except for non-profit organizations and churches.

9.    If more than one name is listed on the entry, the first name listed shall be considered the “entrant”, unless the entry is in Mr. & Mrs. format for a married couple. United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee does not have obligation for delivery of any prize to any person other than the entrant (an individual’s name on an entry). The entrant is responsible for coordinating delivery efforts with groups that purchase an entry. 

10.    United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee is not responsible for entries lost in the mail or otherwise not received by it. 

11.    Federal and state laws restrict the sale of tickets to only those state or local residents who specifically meet the requirements as set forth in the applicable statutes and regulations in the terms and conditions as set forth by these Officials Rules. 

12.    After the raffle winner(s) are selected on Thursday, August 24, 2023, the United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee will forward the Winner(s) a Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9, to be sent via certified, return receipt U.S. Mail. The Winner(s) will have fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of receipt of the Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9 pursuant to the terms and conditions stated therein. Upon receipt of the Winner Notification Agreement, Form 5754, and Form W-9, the cash prize (less applicable taxes) will be tendered to the winner(s) within thirty (30) Calendar Days from the date of receipt of aforementioned documents at the United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee office.  If the executed documents are not received by United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee within said period, the prize will be automatically forfeited by the drawing winners and all proceeds will be retained by United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee. 

13.    Winner(s) shall have no rights in prize until the prize is fully and unconditionally accepted by winner(s) by the timely execution and return of the WNA and until complete delivery of the prize is made to winner. All prizes remain the sole property of United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee until unconditionally accepted "as is, where is" by winner(s). 

14.    The Winner(s) of the United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee $50K Your Way raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state and local taxes payable due to the winner’s acceptance of the cash prize. All such applicable taxes will be deducted from the cash prize prior to disbursement of the prize amount to the winner(s). 

15.    United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee reserves the right to use the names, pictures, video images and relevant quotes of winner(s). 

16.    The $100 entry price, payable to United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee is NOT deductible for federal income taxes purposes. 

17.    Tickets, receipts, and the winners' rights are not transferable. Winners need not be present to win. 

18.    By law – winners of items costing $600 or more will receive tax form 1099.  The Winner(s) need not to be Present at the drawing to be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, during the United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee Campaign Kick-off, in Columbus, MS. 

19.    All sales of the raffle tickets are final and there will be NO refunds.

20.    Proper Government issued photo identification must be presented to claim the prize.

21.    Void where prohibited by Law. 

22.    The United Way staff, volunteer board members of United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee and their immediate family members ARE NOT ELIGIBLE to participate. 

23.    Immediate Family is defined as the spouse, parents, grandparents, great grandparents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This definition also includes individuals for whom an employee is the current legal guardian or individuals who are not legally related to but who resides with an employee. (“Step” relationships also are covered by this definition) The determination of United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee are final and binding with respect to any matter arising out of the interpretation or application of these terms and conditions. 

24.    Limitation on Liability. By purchase of a raffle ticket, each entrant forever discharges and releases Beneficiary, Sponsor (s), its/their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, suits, and demands of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest, including, without limitation, responsibility for property damage, loss of life, or personal injury resulting from or in connection with participating in the raffle or from or in connection with use or receipt of the Prize(s), however caused. 

25.    Violation of any of these rules or attempts to win any contest by fraud, deception or cheating shall be grounds for United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee to disqualify that individual from participating in all current and future contest and events at the sole discretion of United Way of Lowndes & Noxubee, as well as forfeiture of any prize or prizes won by fraudulent means.
